A fast-moving line of storms swept across Greater Buenos Aires in the early morning and spawned four tornadoes in the western suburbs, including Bella Vista, Moreno, Merlo and Ituzaingó. Roofs flew, thousands of trees came down and about 500 homes were damaged.

In Bella Vista the wind even lifted the town's statue off its base.
