Just before one o'clock a short but violent tornado hit the village of Glanerbrug, right beside the German border. It ripped away roofs and a carport, knocked down trees and dropped branches on a school playground. The tornado then crossed into Germany and damaged roofs north of the town of Gronau. No one was reported hurt.
