In the evening a tornado crossed the river Elbe and swept through the town of Glückstadt in northern Germany. It tore roofs off houses and off a factory hall and threw garden sheds and garages into nearby yards. Around 40 to 50 buildings were damaged and a bent overhead wire blocked a railway line. Nobody was hurt, and about 120 firefighters and helpers worked until two in the morning.
